I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). As a member of this governing body, I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. Integrative Counselling means that I use a variety of counselling techniques, tools and theories, including CBT. You will find my membership details on the BACP website www.bacp.co.uk
Prior to becoming a Counsellor, I worked in commerce and the public sector in a local but global blue chip company, as a Management Development Consultant. During my career, I worked to achieve a certificate in Training and Development which I was awarded from the Institute of Personnel and Development.
I am a qualified practitioner in MBTI (Myers Briggs) and I formally trained for a diploma in Life Coaching with the director of Achievement Specialists Curly Martin. This Life Coaching Diploma Course is accredited by two external, non-affiliated bodies, The Open College Network and the European Coaching Institute.
Using these skills in my work, I Coached and Trained all levels of employees in large groups and more frequently on a one-to-one basis.
Whilst working as a Management Development Consultant I trained as a Counsellor and after qualifying, I worked for 14:21 Time to Talk www.14-21timetotalk.freeserve.co.uk in Newbury, Berkshire as an outreach counsellor working with students, in local schools.
As well as being in private practice, I currently work for the NSPCC www.NSPCC.org.uk offering short or long-term counselling to men and women. I also work in Family Mediation in Swindon, Wiltshire www.northwiltsfrns.co.uk where I counsel children from the age of nine years through to adolescence.
